FriendsFest Cardiff || Lifestyle

I've been a rather busy bee recently; travelling to & from Wales like no tomorrow but on one of these trips we popped into Friendsfest for a spot of exploring. As you can guess from the name it's a "festival" based on the TV series Friends which I'm a huge fan of so we thought we see what it was all about!!

Central Perk
To kick things off we wandered straight over to Central perk which of course is iconic & they made a fabulous job of recreating it. They made it a working cafe so it wasn't the easiest to get a good photo but they also had photo ops with the sofa & Phoebe's performance stage. I love a good photo op so of course I did my best drinking a fake coffee pose!!

Festival areana
I have to admit when we booked the tickets we were both unsure of what a Friends fest would really entail. There's only soo much they could do & they did the best they could. As expected there wasn't much to the festival side but they made every food stall Friend's themed & had multiple photo ops available. There were also a bunch of set items such a police cars & wedding booths to play dress up. Unfortunately the festival side of it was a little underwhelming however the price is really great so you can't complain. The staff were really interactive getting people signing & dancing on the main stage making the atmosphere really lovely.

Set tour
Finally onto the best part which is why we all booked tickets!! The set tour was fabulous & you were let loose to explore all the props. Initially you were shown some of the original props & outfits which were protected. It was really nice to see the small details that went into the show & of course the famous Rachel's letter to Ross!! Following on from the prop room you got to enter Chandler & Joey's apartment, the hallway & Monica & Rachel's apartment. Each set was brilliant; they really brought the apartments alive & made you feel like you were on the original sets. It was a little crazy so be prepared, people running around like crazy getting photos. Luckily at the end of each set you are asked to evacuate & it gives you the change to get an empty photo.

Even with the miserable weather definitely worth a visit even just to see all the sets. It really brought the programme to life & was a really relaxed day out. If you're a fan of the show I would recommend popping down for an afternoon.

  1. I really want to go to Friendsfest, it looks so awesome! I've been to the Central Perk that they have at the Warner Bros Studios in L.A but I'd love to see Monica and Rachel's apartment!
